Being a freelancer, the first thing that comes to my head is “When will I get my next project?” and I can guess you feel the same too.

Freelancers are mostly focused on completing the projects done rather than thinking about the next project. This short term mindset often results in the freelancer dropping out of project for a long time.

Even you know that our projects are mostly unreliable. This is not a stable income. In a month, you may get a client or a project, you may get 5 of them too. But can you really land the amount of projects or clients you dream of?

This is why I will share some of the tips I followed to land over 7 different clients with payscale from $17–$260 to get you started.

1. Play The Long Game

If you are not focused on landing your project before you finish off the current one, there’s a high possibility you will run out of projects for an indefinite amount of time. This makes you frustrated, tensed, insecure and mostly it makes you feel bad.

Start by playing the long game. When you are nearly about to get your work done, go after the next client. Don’t just stop at completing one project, it’s a game that keeps going on. If you stop, you stop and that is it. Now you don’t want to stop, do you?

2. Dig for more Opportunities

No one will do it unless you do it yourself. Once you get a client, get to know more about their business, service. If you can research and find out even one loophole where you can work on, this will bring fortune for you as everyone looks for betterment everyday.

If your client is a website, ask if they are doing well in the SEO or if they are ranking the contents, or if they need any sort of marketing support. You don’t even have to ask them. Research it out yourself and know where you can put more work into. This opportunities will turn your $5 project into $150 as well.

3. Provide more value

This is like an ulimate rule to me because I have a 100% success rate behind following this. The more you put value, the more pricey you are.

If you are giving a value of $5, try to add more value into it and the clients will understand. Try giving out more effort. This extra value puts a smile on your clients face and who knows, you might even get hired without any interviews or meetings for a next project as well just because of the amazing value you provided.

Takeaways

Whether you are a freelancer or not, the above mentioned ways take time, effort and persistency. Nothing comes out like gold in one day. If you keep striving for it, this becomes possible to earn over $2000 per month simply following these rules.

Just make sure you understand what you are doing and not following other freelancers. Stay unique. At the end of the day, you’re on your track. So make sure you are on the right one and make a great impression on everyone you provide service to.
